Panthumai is an incredibly beautiful village in the lap of Meghalaya on the Bangladesh-India border. It is a village in West Jaflong Union of Goainghat Upazila of Sylhet District. With the Meghalaya hills behind and the Piane river flowing by, this village is perhaps one of the most beautiful villages in Bangladesh. Next to this village is a huge waterfall locally known as Phatchari Waterfall which is known to us as Panthumai / Panthumai / Panthumai Waterfall. Some also call it Big Hill Fountain. Although the fountain falls within India, it can be seen very close by standing on the banks of the Piane river. BSF camp is nearby. A row of plum trees divides the border of the two countries here. There is no BGB post here. So getting close to the border is dangerous.

The place is at the border of Bangladesh. It is one of the most beautiful falls in Bangladesh. My provided pictures are from Bangladesh side. One can’t go to see the falls from Bangladesh because it is located in India.
To go to nearest of the falls one need to hire a boat cost around 100 BDT per boat. It is best to visit in the rainy season
